BugHerd alternative

Pinned feedback, with the MCP BugHerd doesn't ship. Flat pricing. Just a link.

BugHerd is a solid, long-running website feedback tool — pin-on-page bugs with a built-in Kanban board, and genuinely generous limits (unlimited guests and projects on every plan). Two things send people looking. Plans are per-member and start at $39/mo bundling five seats, which is a lot for one person. And there's no official MCP — only third-party servers — so your coding agent can't natively read and resolve feedback. PinDrop is flat ($15/mo Pro, $39/mo Studio), ships an official MCP on the Free tier, and reviewers just open a link. No browser extension.

TL;DR

PinDrop ships an official MCP server — BugHerd has none, only community ones — reviewers open a link with no extension to install, and pricing is flat instead of per-member. BugHerd wins on things worth naming: unlimited guests and projects on every plan, and a mature Kanban board for running feedback as tasks. If you want a task board and a real team plan, BugHerd fits. If you're solo or a small design studio shipping with an AI agent, PinDrop fits.

Pricing, per member vs flat

BugHerd is per-member: $39/mo for 5 members on Standard, $59/mo for 10 on Studio, $109/mo for 25 on Premium, $189/mo for 50 on Deluxe. Extra members are +$8/mo. It's a fair model for a real team — and the unlimited guests and projects sweeten it. But if you're one person, the entry plan still bundles (and bills) five seats.

PinDrop is flat: Free (1 project), $15/mo Pro (10 projects), or $39/mo Studio (unlimited projects, 10-person workspace). Solo, that's $15 vs $39. A four-person studio is $39/mo on PinDrop Studio vs $59/mo on BugHerd Studio — and PinDrop includes MCP at every step.

The MCP angle

BugHerd has no official MCP server. The ones that exist are community or third-party, which means setup and trust are on you. PinDrop ships a first-party remote MCP on the Free tier — sign up, mint an API key, connect your IDE. Tools your agent can call:

pindrop_list_open_pins
every open pin across your projects
pindrop_get_pin_context
route, viewport, coordinates, screenshot, DOM snapshot, thread
pindrop_add_pin_comment
reply as the agent
pindrop_resolve_pin
close the pin after shipping the fix

You say "fix pin 4" in Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. The agent reads the pin's full context, edits the code, and resolves the pin — no copy-paste, no board to keep in sync.

What BugHerd does better

Honest: BugHerd has things PinDrop doesn't.

  • Unlimited guests and projects. On every plan, no reviewer or project caps. PinDrop caps reviewers per link until Studio.
  • Built-in Kanban board. Manage feedback as tasks — assign, prioritize, move across columns. PinDrop has resolve, assign, and filter, but not a full board.
  • Mature integrations. Jira, Trello, Asana, GitHub, Slack, Zapier — broad and established.
  • Track record. Around since 2011, agency-proven, SOC 2.

Switch to PinDrop if

  • You're solo or 1–5 people and don't need a five-member plan
  • You want an official MCP server — BugHerd ships none
  • Your reviewers should just open a link — no extension, no invite
  • You want the pin → fix loop to happen in your IDE

Stay on BugHerd if

  • You want a built-in Kanban board to run feedback as tasks
  • Unlimited guests and projects on every plan is the shape you want
  • You rely on its mature PM-tool integrations

How to switch

PinDrop is web-pages-only and has no Kanban board — if the board is load-bearing, that's the tradeoff. For a project where you just need feedback on the live page:

  1. 01Paste your deployed URL below
  2. 02Share the new PinDrop link with your reviewers
  3. 03Keep BugHerd for the board, or let the trial lapse

takes about five minutes once you have the URL handy
